Our Resident Rocks!

Posted on July 18, 2012 in Active Aging for Park Vista Retirement Community

Mary Pinter is ready to rock this weekend -- in a rocking chair, that is.

Pinter, a Park Vista of Youngstown Independent Living Resident, will participate in Mahoning Valley Epilepsy's Rocking for Epilepsy Awareness and Support event.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the group hopes to raise epilepsy awareness by rocking in the rocking chairs in front of Cracker Barrel in Austintown.

This is the second year Pinter, an active artist and resident volunteer at Park Vista, will participate. She credits a friend for getting her involved.

"I have a very good friend with epilepsy, and I think this is a very good thing," says Pinter. "This is bringing awareness to this health concern that can happen to anyone at any age."

Pinter is raising money for epilepsy awareness. She will rock from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21.
